Village Fest

Activate Uptown  invite’s you to enjoy North Long Beach in a whole new way! On October 1st, enjoy a FREE, open streets block party with live music, activities, food, live mural installation, youth basketball tournament, a children’s arts & crafts area, giveaways and more.

Activate Uptown will take place right in the streets, along Artesia Boulevard and Myrtle Avenue. Artesia Boulevard will be open to people walking, biking, and playing in the street, and closed to car traffic. Myrtle Avenue will showcase a reimagined streetscape with temporary features (including a bike boulevard and traffic circle) that make walking, biking, or skating easier, safer and more enjoyable. Come check them out!

Additionally, enjoy delicious food vendors, local retail vendors, sidewalk chalk art, a classic car display by Pharaoh’s Car Club, and a custom Harley Motorcycle showcase by Dirtbag Baggers.

At the corner of Artesia Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, the event will connect to Village Fest featuring: Murs & The Pharcyde at #ActivateUptown. There will be a variety of musicians and featured activities related to STEM/STEAM programming for children of all ages.

At the corner of Artesia Boulevard and Cerritos Avenue, we’re excited to announce the “New Blues Stage” presented by New Blues Festival frontman William Grisolia, showcasing the best local blues bands including:

– New Blues Revolution
– Brophy Dale Band
– DEBi & the GrooveMakers
– Bernie Pearl
– The Tony Lopez All-Star Band & Shy but flyy
– The Audio Joe Project – AJP

At the corner of Artesia Boulevard and California Avenue, we’ve added a THIRD stage to #ActivateUptown: The Uptown Rock & Soul Stage, presented by Roxanne’s Cocktail Lounge & Latin Grill owner, Robert Molina.

Uptown Rock & Soul Stage will showcase an eclectic mix of Indie, Rockabilly, Funk, Jazz, and Latin bands, including:

– Sea Funk Brass Band
– Simbala
– Seatbelt
– The Jazz Baker Band
– TheRookeries
– DJ Gloss
– Step Show Performance by Jordan High School’s Xi Sisters & Omega Brothers
