MOM (Motown On Mondays) first started in in the city of San Francisco over 5 years ago and was founded by DJ Gordo Cabeza. Over a couple of years MOM began to grow and has become a hometown favorite amongst Bay Area party goers. A few years ago Gordo, and partners Timoteo Gigante and The Captain Hat, decided it was time to spread the wings of MOM and bring the magic of Motown to other cities. The first cities in line were Honolulu and Los Angeles… more recently MOM has branched out to Austin, New York, Oakland, Denver, Chicago, San Jose, and now Washington DC, Seattle, and Sacramento! Every Monday hundreds of soul thirsty, dance ready folks from all industries converge on MOM’s dance floors (across the country) to absorb and reflect the love that some the best DJs in the US and beyond have to offer.

Since December of 2011, Monday nights in LA have become something special with a fresh weekly dance party that showcases some of the most classic soul tunes, forgotten gems, remixes and related off-shoots/inspirations from the Motown catalog. Now over 2 Years old, MOM LA has become an LA favorite, while receiving write-ups from LA Weekly, being listed in the “Top 10 Club Nights For People Who Don’t Like Clubs”, as well as getting write-ups and features from various websites & blogs including Fusicology! This once best-kept secret, has now become the spot to be on Monday nights!
